Pirelli, in compliance with stringent quality control procedures, welcomes and fully supports the introduction of the tyre label, considering it an excellent means to offering end-users more transparency and help in obtaining information when purchasing new tyres.

The overall value of a tyre must be measured on a full list of factors (handling both on dry and wet surfaces, aquaplaning behaviour, high speed stability, dry braking, mileage etc.) on which Pirelli tests all tyres. An update from BTE Automotive.
With the current heat wave gripping the UK, we’ve made a personal decision to adjust our working hours over the next two days to protect the wellbeing of our team.
Our workshop is well-ventilated, clean and organised, but even in the best environment, sustained heat across an intense working day takes its toll. We work with our hands, our heads, and our bodies, and we take that seriously.
Workshop temperatures exceeded 38° yesterday, and that’s a tough work environment.
Our team will be starting early and finishing early over the next two days, making the most of the cooler morning hours and stepping away before the peak heat hits.
All clients have been updated and work has been scheduled accordingly.
Nothing falls through the cracks, we just believe that looking after our people is what allows us to look after your vehicle to the standard you expect.

What an incredible experience for the BTE Automotive at the Tottenham Hotspur Training Ground. ⚽️
We were invited by Castrol and @theracegroup for an exclusive access session with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club @spursofficial — experiencing a live team training session in an active environment first-hand (with Jess wisely spectating from the sidelines while Baz was clearly waiting to be discovered by the scouts 👀).
Following the session, a leadership and mindset session with Spurs legend Gary Mabbutt MBE, who captained the club for an incredible 11 years. Gary openly shared lessons from elite sport, leadership under pressure, resilience, and overcoming adversity whilst managing Type 1 diabetes throughout his playing career.
Hearing stories of sharing the pitch with legends like Pelé, Diego Maradona and a prime Paul Gascoigne was unforgettable, but even more impactful was hearing how he narrowly missed out on a World Cup squad because of his diabetes diagnosis, and how he turned setbacks into fuel.
Leadership principles remain the same whether you’re leading a football club or building a business, show up consistently, lead by example, stay resilient, and never let obstacles define your future.
Massive thanks to the teams at Castrol and Race Group for the outstanding hospitality in an unbelievable setting.

Company Statement.
35 years ago, a family took a chance on a small workshop in Bordon with a belief that doing things properly and caring about every customer was enough to build something special.
They were right.
Today, BTE Automotive enters a new chapter. As of 1st April 2026, Barry and Jess Parker have completed the company buy-out, and assumed full ownership of BTE Automotive Ltd, continuing a three-generational family story that began in 1989.
This business has survived two arson attacks, four recessions, a global pandemic, two lockdown’s, fraud and challenges that would have closed most. It has been rebuilt from nothing by people who refused to walk away.
To Dave and Jan, thank you for everything you built, all the late nights, early starts and countless hours invested into BTE - Enjoy your retirement, and the time you’ve both earned.

Due to the global pandemic in 2020 we have seen a sharp increase in MOT bookings on the back of the government extension during lockdown.
Naturally, please allow time for any unexpected remedial action from the MOT as our workshop schedule is, as normal, extremely busy.

As we update our external signs, access and service reception areas - we found a hidden gem!
This sign dates back to 1990 before “PhONEday”was to change the telephone dialling plan in the United Kingdom on 16 April 1995.
It changed geographic area codes and some telephone numbers. In most areas, a "1" was added to the dialling code after the initial zero.
The changes were are making over the next month as part of our mini- rebrand are to celebrate the 3 decades we have been serving our community (and beyond). Proud to be family owned and operated over 3 generations of the same family.

After an exceptionally busy few weeks at BTE HQ, we have entered into our Third Voluntary Lockdown.
This decision was taken for many reasons including protecting our staff, clients and helping where possible our NHS, key workers and hard working service men and women.
As always, we promote health before wealth and despite the incredible team effort at BTE to ensure optimum safety and protection measures are in place - we can never be sure of how this virus will effect us.
We have made pro-active measures to completely de-contaminate our building, service and parts departments and allow isolation for our hard working team.

Firstly, Happy New Year! Thank you all so much for your wonderful messages, gifts and well wishes from our previous email, they were very well received by the team 🙂
As you may know, the automotive sector is classed as an 'essential business' in the current climate. Our team have worked tirelessly throughout the complete pandemic, working beyond natural expectations to provide a safe and clean working environment that you have been safe to visit.
We have completed two previous voluntary lockdowns to protect our team, clients and the overwhelming pressure on our hard working NHS.
BTE Automotive have made a conscious decision to complete a third voluntary lockdown for very much the same reasons.
We will close on Friday 15th at 5:30pm and re-open on Monday 1st February 2021.
Our team have been briefed and we will complete a deep clean of both workshops, our parts department and service reception areas during this lockdown period. We continue to work together to ensure we provide a safe and clean environment that you can continue to feel comfortable to visit.

Giving back is so important to us...
This year has educated even more than we could've possibly imagined about community and looking after one another. The difficult times we have faced have transformed the way we work and we have re-engineered our business to deal with what has been one of the busiest on record.
Our usual annual Christmas meal (at a local restaurant), has naturally been cancelled, but we managed to provide our hard working team with a local produce hamper and hot meal in unusual fashion.
As we are unable to provide our team with a thank you, we have decided to do something a little different. This years we have Donated to both Bordon Food Bank and another UK based children's charity.
We work for good. That means we donate a percentage of everything we do to charity. This year, we have supported quote a few, but this Christmas we have chosen Many Hopes. Many Hopes rescues children from poverty and abuse and raises them with an imagination for justice and the tools to act on it. Many Hopes educate local children to solve the problems that charity alone cannot. 100% of public donations go to mission because private donors cover our operating costs.
