Investing in Our People: A Smarter Working Week at BTE Automotive
At BTE Automotive, we’ve always believed that the strength of our business comes from our people. Their skill, focus, and commitment are what drive the level of service our customers rely on every day.
From 1st May 2026, we’re introducing a trial of a shorter working week, with an early 3:00pm finish on Fridays. This initiative is about giving something back to our team, supporting a better work-life balance while continuing to deliver at the highest level.
Why This Matters
Across Northern Europe, particularly in countries like Denmark and Norway, many businesses have increasingly shown that adopting a more balanced working model can lead to stronger, more sustainable performance outcomes. This shift towards balance is not merely a trend; it is supported by robust evidence.
Studies and large-scale trials conducted over the past few years have demonstrated that when teams benefit from extended recovery time and a better work-life balance, several positive outcomes emerge:
- Productivity is not only maintained but improved.
- Overall focus and the quality of work produced by teams see significant increases.
- Teams tend to operate with greater energy, consistency, and enhanced attention to detail.
- Employee well-being experiences marked improvement, which in turn leads to more engaged and motivated teams that are eager to contribute.
This approach isn’t focused on reducing output or extending the workweek; rather, it’s about creating an environment that enables a more focused, effective, and fulfilling working week for everyone involved. By prioritising balance, organisations can achieve lasting success while nurturing their workforce's health and happiness.
A More Focused, High-Performance Week.
With this new structure, the working week becomes more intentional. Our team operates with a clear focus on delivering high-quality outcomes, supported by, ongoing strong planning and organisation with clear communication across our teams and a shared commitment to efficiency and precision
The result is a more intensive, high-value working pattern, where time is used purposefully and performance remains consistently high.
Ongoing Investment in Our Workplace.
Alongside this change, we continue to invest in creating the right environment for our team to perform at their best.
That includes maintaining a clean, organised, and professional workshop, alongside ongoing improvements to our facilities and processes. A well-structured, well-supported workplace enables our technicians and front office team to operate efficiently and deliver the level of service our customers expect.
This initiative forms part of a broader strategy, building a business that is not only high-performing, but also sustainable for the long term.
What This Means for Our Customers.
For our valued customers, our unwavering commitment remains unchanged and steadfast. We continue to prioritize high-quality workmanship that meets your expectations, along with clear and honest communication that fosters trust and transparency. Additionally, we maintain efficient turnaround times to ensure your needs are met promptly.
To support this commitment, we will continue to operate at full capacity throughout the week, allowing us to deliver our services consistently and reliably. You can count on us to be there for you, every step of the way, as we strive to provide an exceptional experience that reflects our dedication to excellence.
Looking Ahead
This trial represents a forward-thinking step for BTE Automotive. By supporting our team with a better work-life balance, we are strengthening the foundation of our business and enhancing the service we provide.
We’re confident this approach will deliver long-term benefits, for our team, our customers, and the continued growth of the business.
We look forward to sharing updates as the trial progresses.
