Dealing with an accident

If you are at the scene of an accident at work, you must

Ensure the first aider is called. Summon an ambulance if the casualty appears to be seriously injured, is unconscious or is bleeding profusely;

Ask other people to help you if you feel their help would be beneficial;

Try and preserve the scene of the accident, so that a thorough investigation can take place later.

Reporting an accident

Report every accident, no matter how minor it may seem and whatever the cause, including physical assault. You must report accidents that happen-

To you, colleagues, other workers or members of the public;



While travelling on company business;

While driving on business, even if you are not injured.
